Nature Appreciation
In my spare time, I love and appreciate the striking valor of nature’s expressive beauty. The vibrant colors communicate to me in person and just as well via photographs and paintings. The unique footprint of the land fills my being. When I visit a place, its signature stays with me. When I see pictures of places I have been and even places I have not yet been before, I still feel immediately transported there.
To indulge myself and get my nature fix, I go hiking on Mount Tamalpais occasionally. For more extensive and elaborate luxuries where I may journey by plane and ferry to appreciate nature’s bounty, as I did in Canada, I took an eco-friendly natural museum pathway that winded its way through the temperate rainforest in British Columbia. I bonded with the multi-purpose cedar staple in the First Nations tribes in that area. Little did I know that a couple years later I would come to live in a baby blue house right here in Northern California that is coated with composition shingles made of cedar.
